Sunday – Arrival Day & Welcome Gathering

Arrive in Chamonix and settle into your accommodation before meeting your fellow guests and Cold Fusion hosts.

If you arrive early, spend the afternoon exploring the vibrant town centre of Chamonix, with its fantastic cafés, shops, bars and stunning views of Mont Blanc. Alternatively, make the most of your first day in the mountains with an optional afternoon ski session in the Brévent ski area, located just above Chamonix town.

Afterwards, return to the chalet to relax and meet your fellow guests. Join us for a welcome drink and informal get-together, the perfect opportunity to make new friends, discuss the week's skiing plans and get excited for the adventures ahead.Sunday – Arrival Day & Welcome Gathering

Monday – Brévent & Flégère

Start the day with a hearty continental breakfast before heading to Brévent, one of Chamonix's most scenic ski areas, offering spectacular views of Mont Blanc.

After lunch on the mountain, ski across to Flégère and enjoy a fantastic afternoon exploring two of the valley's best ski domains in a single day.

Return to the chalet to unwind in the sauna before heading into Chamonix for drinks and dinner with the group.

Tuesday – Grands Montets or St Gervais

Following breakfast, choose between two fantastic ski areas:

Grands Montets – Chamonix's legendary ski area, famous for its long red and black runs, challenging terrain and excellent snow conditions throughout the winter.

*Optional Day Trip to St Gervais – Explore one of France's largest ski areas with over 400km of pistes. Connected to the vast Evasion Mont Blanc ski domain, St Gervais offers wide-open cruising runs, beautiful alpine villages and stunning views of Mont Blanc. (*optional paid in resort)

Enjoy the lively apres-ski at the famous Folie Douce in St Gervais.

Head back to the chalet for a sauna and some downtime before joining the group for drinks and dinner in Chamonix.

Option to join the larger Cold Fusion group from The Farmhouse in Chamonix for an evening meal and drinks.

Wednesday – Les Houches

Hidden gem in the Chamonix Valley

Known for its picturesque forest runs, traditional mountain restaurants and relaxed atmosphere, Les Houches is a favourite among locals and visitors alike. The area caters for all abilities and is home to the famous Kandahar World Cup downhill course.

Enjoy a well-earned sauna before meeting fellow guests for an evening out in Chamonix.

Thursday – Chamonix Valley or *Optional Courmayeur, Italy

Today offers another exciting choice.

Stay within the Chamonix Valley and return to your favourite ski area from earlier in the week, or join our popular optional day trip to Courmayeur, Italy (*optional supplement payable in resort).

Just 30 minutes away through the Mont Blanc Tunnel, Courmayeur is one of the Alps' most charming ski destinations. Enjoy spectacular views of Mont Blanc, beautifully groomed slopes, quieter pistes and a wonderfully relaxed Italian mountain atmosphere.

The day isn't just about the skiing. Courmayeur is famous for its excellent mountain restaurants, authentic Italian hospitality and delicious local cuisine. Stop for a long Italian lunch, enjoy a freshly made pizza, sample a traditional Bombardino, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of this stylish alpine resort.

After skiing, guests can enjoy a few après-ski drinks in Courmayeur's bars before we make our way back through the tunnel to Chamonix for the evening.

A Cold Fusion favourite for over 20 years, this remains one of our most popular excursions and is highly recommended.

Friday – Le Tour

Spend your final full ski day and exploring Le Tour Mountain.

With a superb mix of terrain for all abilities and some of the finest panoramic views in the Alps, it's the perfect way to finish an unforgettable week in Chamonix with amazing views of the whole Chamonix Valley and even over into Switzerland.

Return into Chamonix by free train service directly to Chambre Neuf for the famous Apres-ski party!

Saturday – Flexible Ski Day

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in the chalet before making the most of your final day in Chamonix.

Spend the day skiing your favourite mountain one last time, exploring the shops, cafés and bars of Chamonix, taking the spectacular Aiguille du Midi cable car, enjoying a scenic winter walk, or simply relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere of this iconic alpine town.

From around 18:00, we'll gather in the chalet for farewell drinks and one final opportunity to share stories and memories from the week.

Your Cold Fusion host will be available in the evening to assist with departure arrangements, answer any last-minute questions and ensure everything is in place for your journey home.

Join your fellow guests for a relaxed evening of good company, laughter and a short farewell speech as we celebrate another fantastic week in the mountains.

Sunday – Departure Day

Enjoy a final breakfast before departure.

For guests with later flights, you can store your bags in the chalet and enjoy another day skiing before departure.

Multiple transfer companies pick up from the main bus stop right next to the chalet and so easy to arrange flexible pick up times depending on your departure time.

  1. Waterproof ski jacket

  2. Waterproof ski trousers

  3. Ski gloves or mittens

  4. Ski socks (comfortable feet are essential when skiing and so it is worth investing in a few good pairs of socks)

  5. Thermal base layers (it is advisable to layer your clothing when skiing so that you can remove layers if you become too hot and replace them when needed)

  6. Light fleeces/jumpers (to layer over a base layer and under your ski jacket) – thick jumpers can be bulky and restrict movement when worn under a ski jacket

  7. Warm hat (we recommend wearing a helmet when skiing, but this can be hired in resort)

  8. Goggles and good quality sunglasses (the sun is extremely powerful in the mountains and the reflection off the snow can be very strong on the eyes)

  9. Sunscreen/block for the face and neck

  10. Winter insurance – it is essential that your travel insurance covers you for winter sports as medical services are not cheap

Are airport transfers included?

We will coordinate all your airport transfers on your behalf. These transfers are carried out by reputable airport transfer companies, and we offer flexibility in accommodating your arrival and departure times. Having this service arranged for you not only alleviates a significant source of stress but also results in substantial cost savings.

Will I be with other singles?

Yes, ColdFusion caters exclusively for people travelling alone and we can guarantee that you will be with other singles whichever week you choose. The people we accommodate are social people looking to enjoy a traditional chalet holiday with a ready-made group of friends to socialise with in daytime and the evenings.

Is this a dating holiday?

Absolutely not. Some people travel with us who are in relationships, but for whatever reason have left their partners at home. We also welcome couples, where they are social people and want to enjoy the company of like-minded people in an adult environment.

Will I have to share a bedroom?

We offer double en-suite bedrooms for sole occupancy and also twin bedrooms for two people to share.  We allocate room-share based on gender and age-range.

If I choose the shared accommodation and the chalet is not at full capacity, will I be responsible for the cost of the additional bed in my twin bedroom?

No, if you opt for a shared bedroom, Cold Fusion will pair you with another guest for sharing. In cases where the chalet isn't fully occupied, there won't be any single supplement fee.

I have never tried skiing / snowboarding - can I still book a holiday?

Yes, we welcome people of all abilities, including complete beginners. Our team understands how daunting it can be to put on a pair of skis/snowboard for the very first time and will be on hand to help you every step of the way. We can organise lessons (both group and private), equipment hire and lift pass for you to make your first day as stress-free as possible – after all you will have a lot to concentrate on! After your lessons, we can show you the best places to practice your new-found skills with people who are of the same level as you.

I'm a snowboarder - will I be the only one?

Most probably not.... We have seen a growth in the popularity of snowboarding over the past few years and tend to have a 50/50 split of skiers and snowboarders in the chalet. Our chalet hosts and guides both ski and snowboard and so you will always have somebody to snowboard with.

Do I have to book my own fligths?

Yes, we ask that you book your own flights to and from Geneva Airport in Switzerland for Val Thorens, Chamonix and Les Houches and Turin in Italy for Serre Chevalier.

Budget airlines such as Easy Jet offer cheap and frequent flights out of the UK throughout the winter season. We are very flexible on the time you choose to arrive and depart. We arrange your airport transfers around your flight times, giving you flexibility to shop around and find flight times which suit you. Simply send us your flight details and we guarantee there will be someone at the airport to meet you when you land and to wave goodbye when you leave.

How will I know who is meeting me at the airport?

CHAMONIX & LES HOUCHES

To ensure that the arrival of our guests is easy and stress free, ColdFusion have teamed up with professional airport transfer company ‘Mountain Drop Offs’ to collect all of their guests from the airport and take them to the chalets in Chamonix and Les Houches.

The night before departure you will receive a text message giving you details of your pick up time, driver’s name, and emergency telephone number.

Upon arrival at Geneva airport, your driver will meet you at the Mountain DropsOffs desk in the arrivals hall of Geneva airport.

The driver may be meeting other people at the airport but they aim to have a maximum waiting time of only 45 minutes. The transfer time from the airport to the ski resort is only 1 hour 15mins. When arriving at the chalet you will be met by a ColdFusion Rep which will settle you into the chalet.

On the departure day the pick up time from the chalet will be 3-4 hours before your departure flight time. The precise pick up time will be given to you by the resort rep on the night before departure.

SERRE CHEVALIER:

To ensure that the arrival of our guests is easy and stress free, ColdFusion have teamed up with professional airport transfer company ‘Snow Cab' to collect all of their guests from the airport and take them to the chalets in Serre Chevalier. Cold Fusion will be in touch with the excat pick up details in ther lead up to your holiday.

VAL THORENS

These transfers will be operated by Alpine Fleet from Geneva Airport in Switzerland. Cold Fusion will be in touch with the excat pick up details in ther lead up to your holiday.

Do I need to arrange my own insurance?

Yes. You will need to purchase personal travel/holiday insurance before you depart the UK and ensure that you will be covered for winter sports for the duration of your ski trip.

Which ski pass do I need for my holiday?

There are three ski passes available in Les Houches & Chamonix.

If you are a beginner and want to ski just the local area of Les Houches, you can purchse the chapest 'Les Houches Only Ski Pass'.

For anyone else intermediate level or above you will require the 'Mont Blanc Unlimited ski pass' which covers all 5 mountains including the local ski area of Les Houches and the main 4 mountains in Chamonix, as well as the surround resorts of Courmayeur in Italy or the Evasion Ski Area including St Gervais, Megeve and Les Contamines in France.

It also covers the extra mountain in Chamonix called the Aiguille Du Midi. This is a very famous mountain as it is the highest in Europe and it is where a famous off-piste skiing route starts from called the ‘Valle Blanche’. Many people come to Chamonix to see the views from the top of this lift and so we recommend if you get the chance to go up this lift to do so.

Therefore if you are coming to Chamonix for off-piste skiing, amazing views, or a good intermediate to advance skier it is well worth opting for the Mont Blanc Unlimted Ski pass.

On the other hand if you are a beginner and on a budget we recommend opting for the Les Houches ski pass.

SUMMARY

  • Total Beginners: Don’t pre-book a ski pass and buy it on a day to day basis for the area where you are having your lesson.

  • Intermediates to Advanced: Mont Blanc Unlimted ski pass.

For guests travelling to Serre Chevalier, we recommend purchasing the full Galaxy ski pass.

In Val Thorens, the 3 Valleys ski pass will give you full access to all areas.

How many days skiing can I do in my week holiday?

It is possible to do 6, 7 or 8 days skiing when on holiday in Chamonix and Les Houches

You are able to do this as, unlike many other companies, we are flexible on your arrival and departure times when staying in the resort. This means it is possible to ski in the afternoon on the arrival day and in the morning before your departure flight as well as the 6 days in between.

When staying in Val Thorens or Serre Chevalier the ski week is a 6 day week as the transfer times are more fixed.

Can I come with my friend or partner?

Yes, we welcome couples in all of our chalets and a small group of friends travelling together if the people travelling are looking for a social holiday.

No, single skiers and snowboarders are paired in shared rooms, eliminating the need for a single supplement fee. Finally, solo travelers can enjoy their holiday without extra costs!

Certainly, simply inform us of your requirements, and we'll take care of all the arrangements, ensuring a hassle-free experience for you. Whether it's your lift pass, ski rental, or ski lessons, we're more than happy to assist with any aspect of your trip.
